Pontova raffia has a history in Florence. During World War II, when materials were scarce and leather was rationed, Salvatore Ferragamo — working just streets away from where Lorenza's workshop stands today — turned to raffia and patented his techniques for working with it. It was there that Florentine craft learned to speak in colour and texture rather than luxury materials. That tradition is what the Cowboy carries forward.
